Almost 2014

I can't believe it's almost 2014. Feels like 2013 has gone so fast, I think this hear has been a good year for me. I started a blog, got a new cat, did well in my sub diploma and had a generally good year.
In 2014 there are a few New year's resolutions that I want to make.
1. To post 2 or more posts a week.
2. Be healthier, I know everyone says this but I don't mean going on a diet, I mean not eating/drinking so much fatty/fizzy sugary foods. I'm not going to refuse the odd chocolate biscuit, but I am going to make my meals healthier.
3.Not to stress so much. I'm one of the biggest stessers, I get stressed about going to college some days and in 2014 I'm hoping to go to university so I need to stop worrying about the little things and enjoy them.

I hope you all have an amazing new year and I'll be posting a "what I got for Christmas and my birthday" post soon.

Elegant festive nail combo

We all know that I love Barry M nail polished and I really like the nail jelly's, I was doing my nails and then the two that I put together I thought looked really elegant and festive.

How I did this was so simple and I really thing it looks so nice especially if your doing your nails for a Christmas party. (you'll have to excuse my messy nails) This would really look great with a red dress and some nude heals.

Using only two polishes (well three if you count the top coat). The first on to apply is Lychee, which is such a lovely colour and I really like the jelly formulas because there are so opaque. You only need one good coat of this, then once that's dry add the glitter and surprise is called Ruby Glitter.
Last just add your top coat and your all done! There you have some pretty, festive nails.

B. Precise Gel Eyeliner

When I was in superdrug I was looking at all the different make-up brands and I came across the brand B. Id never really taken much notice of this brand before and for £6.99 I picked up this gel eye-liner.
Now I must admit that I don't use eye-liner that often. I love the way eye-liner looks liquid or gel.
I'm just not that good at putting it on myself so 90% of the time I wont wear eye-liner.

This one looked great because it has everything you need to create a nice eye-liner look. I especially like how this has a breakdown on the back of the box for beginners. I also like that its dermatological approved and Opthalmically approved (which means that it's safe for contact lens wearers)

I do really like this eyeliner, my only niggle with it is that is says "HD colour finish" I don't think the colour pay off is as good as others, but if you like to set your liner with Black shadow then it wont be a problem.
As for The "24 hour wear" claim im not really sure about because I don't tend to wear my make-up while I sleep, but it definitely lasts a good 10 hours. After this swatch I did try to rub it off and I couldn't get it off. You will need a make-up remover to take it off without rubbing at your eye's.

I have used this brush to apply the liner several times and I did on the swatch above and I do think the brush is quite good, It doesn't drag, its not too soft and its not too hard. It's just right (pun intended)

Body Shop Aloe day and night cream

These are the Aloe soothing day and night cream from the body shop and they are basically moisturisers.
I'll start with the day cream so this is a moisturiser that's gentle on the skin doesn't leave you feeling greasy.
its colourless fragrance free and alcohol free.
I've found it to be really good for dry skin. but its also nice as an all over face moisturiser. If you have super oily skin then id still say that this is fine to use. If you don't give your skin any moisture then it will produce more so its good to moisturise no matter what your skin type.
It's a fairly light, so its great to use before you put your make up on in the morning.

This is the smaller 15ml pot which is around £4 but a little goes a long way

The night cream is the same price as the other one and has pretty much the same qualities, but the difference is that the night cream is thicker in consistency than the day cream and is a lot more moisturising because of the richer texture.
Ive been using this throught this month and its helped my skin loads and with the winter coming/already here for some its keeping my skin in good condition.

Rimmel Kate moss lipstick

This is one of Rimmels Kate Moss lasting finish lipsticks, in the shade 19 Rossetto.

This is a beautiful lipstick, it's a berry toned pink, it looks a lot lighter in the bullet than it actually is. I like this because if you want you can just apply it quite lightly and if you have a naturally redder toned lip then this looks like your lips but better.
I wouldn't say that this is as glossy as it comes across in the pictures on the Rimmel site and its not matte either. If your are wearing this darker, then you might want to use a lip liner Rimmels lip liner in the shade black tulip would go well with this lipstick.

I really think this colour looks quite sophisticated and also its a great autumn/fall to winter colour this lovely berry shade will compliment most skin types.

As you can see here I have quite fair skin and I really love this shade. If your in the UK you can get it in Boots or Superdrug and if your in the states, or else where you should be able to find them in your local drug store.  And it's only £5.49.
You can find me on Luvocracy where you can buy the things I'm showing.

Barry M natural glow palette

So this is one of Barry M's new palette from their new palette collection
this one is call the natural glow palette this is the one I think people will like most its full of some nice natural tones

So this pallet contains 6 eyes shadows which are all beautifully pigmented and a blush, it also comes with a mirror and some applicators.
There are a few shimmery tones and some matte shades. That this would be great for anyone just starting out with make up.

Here are the shades in the palette
My favourite shade is the purpley mushroom colour on the end on the left, I do have to say that I wasn't really much for the blush I just found that it was a little chalky and also I wouldn't really use the applicators i prefer to use a brush or clean fingers but I do really like the palette and it has a good price tag of £6.49
you can find this palette here at Boots/Barry M palette

Halloween fun!

Hey everyone!

So today is Halloween and id like to share with you all these Halloween themed nails perfect for a Halloween party!!!

To make this I only used a few things, also trying to keep this budget friendly by using low cost items
You will need:
Barry M nail paint in vivid purple
Barry M nail paint in Matt white
you can find both in your local Boots and Superdrug for around £3 each
next you will need a clear coat nail varnish I just picked one from MUA's
Lastly any generic red nail varnish the one I used here was just an one I had floating around and it doesn't have a name you could try using another Barry M one in the shade Bright Red. You will also need a couple of cocktail sticks.

To do this start by painting the nails with the white you will need two coats of this but make sure to let them dry in between, there's nothing worse than making smudge marks in your nails.
As seen here they don't need to be perfect
Now all you need to do is on a piece of card or paper or anything you don't need, put a drop of the red varnish and some purple and slightly mix them together. Then apply on you nails with the cocktail stick to look bloody and gross and if it looks messy then good, its not supposed to be neat. If you want extra texture snap a cocktail stick in half and use the broken end, dip it in your varnish and drag or stipple it onto you nails. Lastly once dry apply the clear coat and your done enjoy your Halloween nails (mwahahah)

                                                        These are my finished nails
                                                              Happy Halloween
