Healthy summer smoothie

So the weather has been getting warmer and also its coming up to summer so I wanted something healthy and fresh so I made a really easy summer smoothie.
For this recipe you will need:
  • A handful of baby spinach leaves
  • half a small punnet of blue berries
  • half a small punnet of raspberries
  • half  a punnet of strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of orange juice (you can add more later depending on how thick you want your smoothie)
  • 1 stick of rhubarb (but you can add more or less depending on how sour you like things)
  • The juice of half a lemon.

To make your smoothie you first want to put your orange juice and spinach into a blender, the orange juice is goof for you because it contains vitamin C, which is good for your immune system and then spinach is a good source of vitamin A. This contains antioxidants, then add the Rhubarb which is good for lowering cholesterol.

You want too do this first so that you can make sure there's no big bits of leaf or stringy bits from the rhubarb . Then you need to put in the blue berries which are so good for you because they contain anti oxidants which are great for your skin.
Next you want to add the raspberries and strawberries which add that delicious flavour along with the goodness that comes from fruit.
Then last you have the lemon juice which will add some tartness to take away the flavour of the spinach.
and then just add some crushed ice and blend for a few minutes and your done, I like to strain mine before drinking to get some of the seeds out.
If you make to much or have some leftover you can put them in a cup like this one I bought from asda for £1 you can probably find them pretty cheap in most supermarkets, then you can store it in the fridge for a few days or freeze it and when you want it take it out a few hours before.

I hope you liked this post and give the recipe a try, thanks for reading.

Lush The Sacred Truth Fresh face mask

I recently has a terrible cold and I just felt really ill and run down. This was really showing on my skin, my face just looked dull and colourless and I had dry patches around my chin and forehead. My skin was just really dehydrated. I needed something to put all the vitamins and goodness back into my skin, so where do you go to LUSH!!
I really love their fresh face masks and lush is one of my favourite shops because of it's amazing product and it's values. So of course I went in search of a good face mask to awaken my skin.
The lady at the shop was really nice and helpful and recommended this...
It's called the Sacred Truth and it's a fresh face mask which contains ingredients to make your skin brighter and radiant.
As you can see its quite a smooth thick consistency and does have bright green colour. I also have to say that the smell is weird, when I first used this I didn't like the smell of it, but now for some reason I kind of like it.

The main ingredients in this are fresh papaya, this stimulates the growth of new skin cells and helps to brighten the skin. next is Shea butter which helps to nourish and hydrate your skin. Then Ginseng root powder to condition and again stimulate new skin cells. And lastly Honey this is an antiseptic so will help with any breakouts and also moisturises then skin.
All these ingredients are really beneficial to the skin and some, like the ginseng powder are things used in high end products.

To use this product you apply to the face generously in a thick layer, avoiding the eyes and then you leave it on for ten to 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. You need to keep this product in the fridge and also what is nice is that when you apply it, it's cooling on the skin apart from that cold shock when you first apply it, this feels really nice.

When you have this on your face you can feel it slightly tight and then when you wash this off your face just feels so soft and plump. I really recommend this if you have dehydrated skin or if you have had a cold and need to revive your skin and it's also good for anti-ageing
You can keep these for around 2-3 weeks and they last a good 6 applications and this one is only £6.25 and you can buy that from Lush store or Online

Revlon colour stay shadow links

So here I have two of the new Revlon Colour Stay Shadow Links, When I first saw these in Boots and Superdrug I thought that they looked really cool.
These are called shadow links because they link together using this little slot on the side, I think this is really handy because you can pick and choose your single eye shadows and then you can slot then together like a little palette.

I have the colour Lilac which is a pearl finish this is a beautiful colour and has a lovely shimmer.
I have also got the colour Plum, this is a matte shade and is also a really lovely colour.
Now onto the formulas, the shimmery shade had a really nice formula and blended really well. It was a bit sheer but it was build able.  Next the Matte shadow this was a nice colour and was quite pigmented, but when it came to blending it took a lot of work, with a primer underneath it did blend better.
They are just beautiful shades and I am glad I bought them and will be picking some more up. On to the price which is great, they are only £2.99 and currently on a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. The packaging is a bit flimsy but for the product and price you can't really complain. I would highly recommend these to anyone especially if your new to make-up and want to build your own palette.
Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed and if you have tried these let me know your favourite shade.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick

It's not very often that I talk about lipsticks, I'm very picky about what colours I like or look good on me.
I usually only wear lipstick on special occasions so I wanted something that looked nice but that I can wear more often.
This is the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in the shade Angel pink, when I first picked this up I just fell in love with the colour it such a beautiful nude pink with a hint of shimmer.
The packaging of this Lipstick is beautiful the gold makes it look more luxurious and I love how the Max Factor X is pressed into the lipstick.
It's just lovely and I bought this from Boots for £7.99 which is an amazing price, you get a good amount of product and it doesn't have any funny fragrance or taste. This is a nice moisturising lipstick so it's good if you are the kind of person that suffers from dry cracked lips like me. I usually find that lipstick looks very patchy and just makes clumps from dry skin, this lipstick doesn't do that.
I think this colour is great if your like me and have quite pale skin and don't want something that's in your face, also would look nice if you have a tan. If you happen to be in your local drug store and come across these then swatch and look because they just have a beautiful formula and there is 15 shades to choose from. There's something for everyone in this beautiful collection.
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you do want to see more like this then let me know
